Anna Finocchiaro

Anna Finocchiaro Fidelbo (Modica, March 31st 1955), Italian political woman, was Ministre for the Republic for the Equal opportunity.

Graduate in Right, it becomes in 1981 civil servant of the Banque of Italy in the subsidiary company of Savone. Judge with Leonforte 1982 with 1985, it was substitute of the prosecutor to the court of Catane until 1987, year when it is elected Député on the list of the Italian Communist party. Of 1988 with 1995 it was moreover communal adviser with Catane, initially with the NCV and then with the Democratic party of the left.

Minister for the Equal opportunity during the government of Romano Prodi (May 18th 1996 - October 9th 1998), in 2001 it is confirmed in his seat with the House of Commons being presented with the Left Democrats. Currently, it belongs to the national secretariat of the DS, also occupying there the function of president of the office for Justice.
