The Ankou of Rennes is a club French of American football based with Rennes.

History

Foundation of the club and competitions regional (2003-2007)

Ankou is the third club created in Rennes, after the Gladiateurs and the Devils. The club takes form in September 2003, following the meeting on Internet of a handle of impassioned American football and a team of flag. The team recruits quickly Laurent Robelet, an experienced trainer who already gained a title in the second division in 1989.

Since 2004 the seniors team and the junior team (under the name of Margouillats de Rezé, with the junior of the Unicorns of St-Brieuc and Kelted of the Saint) take part in the regional championship of the Football league American of Brittany - Pays-de-Loire. In 2005 the seniors integrate the new regional championship, but also with the 10th edition of the Western Bowl. The junior team involves itself with the juniors of the Unicorns of St-Brieuc and Kelted of the Saint. The club enriched players juniors.

The arrival at the end of 2004 of Frederic Agostinis as trainers brings an evolution of the play, in particular defensive, who allows the team to take part in the finale of the regional championship 2005/2006 face with the Horde of Cholet (demolished 32 to 6). The club takes part once again in the Western Bowl but does not pass hens.

For season 2006/2007, senior manpower packs and reaches forty players. After having worked defense the previous year, Frederic Agostinis, having shouldered by the arrival of new trainers whose Sylvain Guégan, specialist in defense, deal with the offensive organization. Once again Ankou plays the finale of the regional championship, which it gains with vis-a-vis the Mariners of Valves. At the time of the Western Bowl the club takes part in the final stage played Mans and plays the match for the 5th place vis-a-vis the Caimans.
