Anjela Duval

Anjela Duval , at the registry office Marie-Angele Duval , is a poetess Breton born the April 3rd 1905 with the Old man-Market, close to Plouaret (Coast-with Armor), deceased the November 7th 1981, with Lannion.

It is the only daughter of a family of farmers, and had taken again the farm. (his/her father died in 1941, its mother in 1951). She was, indeed, their only daughter, because her older sister Maia (dead at ten years, but remained present in certain poems) as well as a brother ( Charles ) had died before her birth. Only, because it had remained unmarried (because of its stubborn refusal to follow in the “ exile ” the man whom it would have loved, a sailor that it attended then (in 1924 - 1926 says one)). It is a poor and simple country-woman who writes her poems on a book of schoolgirl in her small house of the Old man-Market to Traoñ year Dour , hamlet isolated after its hard day's work with the fields.

It read the Breton since very young person, but only in the years 1960 started to write it. She attended the school, in the sisters in the common neighbor of Trégrom, only from six to twelve years (1917); but, victim of a disease of the bones, it then followed some courses by correspondence for the young girls of rural environment. It thus handled rather well French, whereas it had learned catechism into Breton, as it was then the rule.

Being put in search of some review in Breton language, one had indicated to him Ar Bed keltiek, of tendency Breton Nationaliste.
She embraced itself this cause, which was exceptional for a country-woman. (According to other sources, one should with the abbot Marsel Klerg have discovered it.)

She had made known herself of the French public by the emission of Andre Voisin the Storytellers , in 1971.

Its complete works (under the title Oberenn glok ), appeared in 2000. Drawn in 1000 specimens and quickly exhausted, they were republished in 2005, at the time of the hundredth birthday of its birth.
