The study of the animal behavior is very old. The science which studies the animal behavior call the ethology. A new trade develops in France to apply knowledge of this science to high animals or the animals which the man must manage, these people are the Comportementaliste S.

In a traditional way, the animal behavior is subdivided in several items:

bases of the Behavior
methods of Training
individual behaviors
social behaviors
collective behaviors
the Aggressiveness
social groups and structures
reproductive behaviors
the relations predatory-preys

Four fundamental questions underlie this study of the animal behavior: is

  • Which the immediate causes of the behavior? is
  • Which its value of survival?
  • Comment was it set up during the Ontogenèse?
  • Comment was it set up during the Phylogenèse?
They were elaborate in the work of Nikolaas Tinbergen published in 1963, in homage to Konrad Lorenz, under the title One aims and methods in Ethology .
