Aniche

Aniche is a common French, located in the department of the Northern and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

Its inhabitants is called Anichois and Anichoises

Geography

Aniche is located in the middle of the area of Ostrevant. It profits from the proximity of the highways with A2 with Hordain and soon A21 with Somain (ex- N455).

Transport

Aniche is connected to Douai via line 1 (Aniche-Douai) of Tub of Douaisis, like by line 409 of the network Arc-en-Ciel (Douai-Denain via Aniche).

Aniche will profit, in a few years, of Evéole, the tyred tram of Douaisis, whose startup of the line has (Douai-Guesnain) will be carried out on July 2nd, 2008. While waiting, it will be necessary to make the obligatory swing tram-bus.

As well as the way tram already prepared not far from the Gayant shore in Douai, for the future line D (Douai-Waziers), the axis Masny-Auberchicourt, and later Aniche, should enter soon in phase of work.

    Personalities related to the commune

    • Napoleon Bonaparte (1769 - 1821) then young officer in quartering with the barracks of Douai maintained a short connection with Miss Gerbier with Aniche. In spite of its thin balance it rents for one month a room " place marché" vis-a-vis the Saint Martin's day church. It informs Miss Gerbier of her first political ambitions, its sympathies to the Lights and ignites for the project of Mister of Lapérouse in its forwarding around the world. Recalled by its military obligations it gives up Miss Gerbier. In a concise mail of good-bye Bonaparte written " In your town of Aniche leave only the riens.     Folklore

    The KB-Pierre giant, the Drum major and help Forgeron, pays homage to Alexandre Joseph Consil, who was the drum major of the school Saint-Cyr military school at the time of the procession to the July 14th with Paris in 1879.
