Angus Maddison (1926 -) is a economist and British Historien . He is one of the most influential authors in the field of the historical and comparative analysis of the Economic growth.

Biography

Maddison was born in 1926 with Newcastle (England). He studies with Selwyn College (Cambridge) (1945-48), McGill (1949-50), and Johns Hopkins (1950-51). In 1948-49, it is pilot RAF. He teaches with Saint Andrews (1951-52), then joined the OEEC, ancestor of OECD. Between 1969 and 1971, he collaborates in the Center for International Affairs of Harvard, and for this reason advises the governments of several countries. From 1978 to 1996, he is professor with Groningue, and since professor emeritus.
