Anggun

Anggun , of its true name Anggun Cipta Sasmi, which means the Grace created in a dream , is a Chanteuse of origin Indonesia, today of French nationality , born the April 29th 1974.

Biography

Anggun begins its career of singer on scenes for children whereas it was 9 years old. Then she is success as of the 14 years age, in her country and the area of the South-East Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore). She assembles her own label at the 20 years age. She then decides to launch out in an international career and flies away for the Europe in 1994.

She makes the choice land initially with London. She made some meetings there, starts projects which did not succeed. She decides to leave for the Holland. She announces her departure of its first label in January 2003. Since it settled with Montreal, with the Canada, to find his/her husband-to-be in there 2004. She signs with the current of the summer 2004 with Heben Music and beginning 2005 she makes appear its third album Luminescence . First the individual selected one is Être a woman . A round is started the March 14th 2005 at European. She continues to turn and promote internationally her album in all Europe and Asia until the middle of the year 2007.

The characteristic of Anggun is to combine various musical influences coming from the whole world , and to be able to sing in three languages. Each one of its albums appears at least in two versions, a Frenchwoman and English. Anggun generally composes in English, and it joins its joint authors then (Jean Fauque, Tété, Lionel Florence, Evelyne Kral for the 3rd album, but also Erick Benzi or Jacques Vénéruso, Gildas Arzel for the precedents) to rehabilitate them in French.

Since its beginnings in France, Anggun was implied in many causes: in 1998 with Together against the AIDS , 1999 with the Dumbs, 2000 with Echoes from Earth, 2001 with the voices of the hope, 2002 with Gaia, 2003 for the Concert for Peace, 2004 with Génésis, 2005 with A.S.I.E, 2006 with Fight Aids, etc It was named official spokesperson of the International Year of MicroCrédit (program of UNO intended for éradiquer underdevelopment in the world) in 2005.

On scene, it is accompanied by its four musicians, Fabrice Ash, Olivier Frêche, Jean-Marie Négozio and Claude Saragossa.

A new album is in preparation for the year 2008.
