Angelo Buccarello
Its formation
Born at Castrignano del Capo (Leuca), small village of the south of the Italy, in 1942.
After the elementary schools and secondary, it entered aspiring the Ordre of the Very Holy Trinity for the Redemption of the prisoners (OSST) on November 17th, 1955.
It began the noviciate in 1959 and continued its studies:

traditional College in Livorno Italy
- Philosophy with the College of Crisogono with Rome.
- Theology with the pontifical University Urbaniana, of Rome.
It was ordered priest on June 28th, 1968. October 11th, 1969, it was assigned with a mission with Madagascar.
Its work of missionary especially consisted to accommodate people, them to help, the évangéliser, to educate them with the faith, often by rounds to visit about fifty Christendoms of the country.
In 1981, it was destined for Tananarive to train the young Malagasy brothers trinitaires. In 1983, the Cardinal appointed it “Chaplain” of the prisons of Tananarive.
Its works
He was named “Catholic Chaplain of the Prisons of Madagascar”. He founded thereafter the social work of the ACP STATE (Catholic Chaplaincy of the Prisons). The ACP STATE, whose seat names Tonga Soa, rendered much services to the prisoners like to their families.
The ACP STATE is currently recognized by the Malagasy State like an ONG, whose Angelo father is the founder president.
He worked in the prison field with this social work, the ACP STATE, until his departure of Madagascar in 2001.
With the ACP STATE, he sought to help his imprisoned brothers, especially poorest, that it is for their vital needs, legal, or to help them to recover their dignity, their kindness, their vocation.
The team of the ACP STATE, provides:
- Of the food service
- Of the medical department
- Of the social service
- Of the legal department
- Of the reintegration of the released prisoners.
- Of the production of coal starting from waste.
In 1987, the Angelo Father followed closely and helped “the 4 Semi ones”: approximately 250 children, between 4 and 12 years, collected in the streets of Antananarivo and piled up in an old slaughter-house, almost without any care. On this occasion, it challenged the congregation of the “Sisters Ursulines” to open the Center “Marie Angèle” and to accommodate, at least, the youngest girls. This center exists still today.
Thereafter, it opened centers for the reception of the children of the prisoners with Amboditsiry, Andranobevava, Analamahitsy, Fenomanana, Anjiro, like in Androndra for the prisoners more dénutris.
After 32 years with Madagascar, including 20 with Tananarive, he is elected and named general adviser of the Order trinitaire, in July 2001, with Rome (Italy).
He was then named president of International solidarity Trinitaire, an organization with savor of release.
Its decorations
In December 1996, the Angelo Father received from the president of the French Republic, Jacques Chirac, the price of the Human rights. He was named member of the National Commission Malagasy of the Human rights, and decorated Chevalier and Officer with the Malagasy National order.
Its great exploit : Madagascar was the only country in the world which, at the time of the year jubilaire 2000, year of reconciliation and handing-over of the debts, released approximately 3000 prisoners , as a sign of leniency, that thanks to the faith and with the tenacity of the Angelo father and the group “2000 Dream”, that it had constituted, like with warm welcome of the bishops and the government.
