Angelicus panic grass
Panis Angelicus is one of the three liturgical anthems writings by saint Thomas d' Aquin for the Fête of the Body of Christ for the eucharistic Liturgie and the Liturgie of the hours of the Church. The two others hymes written by Aquin are O Salutaris Hostia and Tantum Ergo.
In 1872, César Franck arragea the anthem for the tenor, organ, the toothing-stone, the Cello, the Double bass and the Violoncello by incorporating it in its solemn Mass. Sung by Luciano Pavarotti and Charlotte Church, the version of John McCormack interpreted in Dublin in 1932 was regarded as the top of its career.
