Andy Hug
Andy Hug (born the September 7th 1964 with Zurich, Swiss - died the August 24th 2000 of a Leukemia) was a champion of Kickboxing Suisse, which has one of the most beautiful prize lists of the discipline.
Biography
Andy Hug begins the Martial arts at the 10 years age and becomes national champion of Karaté Kyokushinkai at 17 years. It carries the European title in this discipline at 19 years then arrived, at 22 years, finally world title in Japan. It is inclined in front of Shokei Matsui but its service impresses the Japanese.In 1992, it passes from the Karaté Kyokushinkai to Karate Seïdo and becomes world champion in this discipline.
In 1993, it turns to the Thai Muay. It gains the world title against the Dutchman Van Esdonk in 1994.
1995 is one year black for him: it undergoes two defeats by K.O., but it beats Banner in December with Nagoya.
But it is in 1996 that its career takes a decisive turn with a époustouflante participation in the great Japanese tournament the K-1. It beats Ernesto Hoost, Mike Bernardo, " Stan The Man" , Masaaki Satake, Musashi and Peter Aerts and gain the final by beating Bernardo. This same year it takes world belt WMTC of superheavy with Stan Longédinis (" Stan The Man").
In 1998, it repeats in the K-1 but Peter Aerts, arrived fresher than him finally, beats it by K.O. He hoped that the session 2000 of this tournament would enable him to finish in beauty its career by gaining the final one second time.
The Japanese admired it much, at the point to have conferred to him the honorary title of “Samurai. ”
He dies the August 24th 2000 following a Leucémie and had a woman and a son.
