Support
Until March 2007, the three parties which control Estonia had 52 seats (out of 101) and are the Parti the Center (Estonia) and the Union of the People (Estonia) in addition to the Party of the Reform.Generally, the Estonian media consider that this new government, from the point of view of competences, is not better than the precedent, with the only exceptions of and the Minister for Finance Minister of Justice. Its popular name is the Coalition of Garlic , because the governmental agreement was joined in the restaurant of Tallinn “Balthasar”, whose speciality are the winged dishes.
Mr. Ansip (48 years) was the Minister for the Economy and Transport in the old government, but its action cannot be measured, since it occupied this station only recently.
Andrus Ansip made an opening in the Estonian national policy only in 2004, after having obtained an important support of the inhabitants of Tartu, the second town of Estonia, which had elected it mayor in 1998.
