Andronicos of Rhodos was a philosopher peripatetician of the 1st century before J. - C, native of Rhodos.

The " légende"

According to Strabon and Plutarque, Andronicos of Rhodos would have published towards 60 av. J. - C. the first edition of the writings known as " ésotériques" - intended for the College - of Aristote and Théophraste, whose originals would have right summer found by Apellicon.

Which reality?

However, one can put forth the assumption that it is Andronicos of Rhodos which even inspired this legend to him in order to insist on the new character of its publications. Moreover, by studying other philosophers (the Mégariques, the Stoical Epicureans and ) have can notice that their knowledge of Aristote implies that they were to know these texts " ésotériques" before their publication by Andronicos of Rhodos.
