Andrey Kashechkin

Andrey Kashechkin (in Cyrillic character: АндрейКашечкин) is a Kazakh cyclist born March 21st 1980 with Kzyl-Ordinskaya (Kazakhstan).

Kashechkin, called Kash, makes its professional beginnings in 2001 in the team Domo-Farm Frites. After having evolved/moved within the team Crédit Agricole, it joined its compatriot and friendly Alexandre Vinokourov, leader of the Astana-Würth in 2006.

Andrey Kashechkin is the revelation of Vuelta 2006, where it obtains a victory of stage and finishes 3rd of the general. Its complicity with Alexandre Vinokourov was particularly expressed in the last week of this Vuelta when it has, thanks to attacks with repetitions, license with its fellow-member to outdistance Alejandro Valverde, then promised with its first victory over a large lathe.

The August 8th 2007, its team announces that it underwent a positive blood control in Turkey (blood Transfusion homologous), and that it was of this fact immediately suspended until the analysis of the sample B. That Ci being positive, it was dismissed by its team.
