Andrew Gibb

Biography

Following successes of his/her three Barry brothers and the twins Robin and Maurice alias The Bee Gees, Andy plays in local clubs with Ibiza in Spain then moves with his/her parents on the Île of Man.

In 1975, it turns over in Australia which it had left beginning 1967 (his/her parents and his/her brothers had emigrated there in August 1958) and there meets an enormous success with " Words And Music" he is the single composer-songwriter (1975). The following year, it Marie with Kim Reeder (a marriage which will last only two years).

It signs in 1977 a contract discographic with Robert Stigwood for the British label RSO, a division of Polydor GB, where his/her brothers are also under contract. Its first number 1 American (July 1977) " I just want to Be your everything" is written by his/her brother Barry Gibb.

Its second individual " (Is Coils) Thicker than water" Co-writing with Barry [[Joe Walsh] ex James Gang, new guitarist of the American group of music Country The Eagles is again number 1 (March 1978) blowing the place in Bee Gees (Stayin' alive) which is not long in taking again the top with Night Fever.

Andy becomes the first artist to have three consecutive numbers 1 with " Shadow dancing" (June 1978) Co-writing by the four Gibb brothers. It will especially have other successes in the United States between September 1978 and June 1981.

With course of inspiration (he wants to only play riding) and mined by its rupture with Victoria Principal with which he was in love, he devotes himself to drug (cocaine) but is made look after in California (1985).

In 1988, it signs an new agreement with Island Records GB to record an album in the United Kingdom. March 7th of the same year, whereas he works on this album he is victim of evils of stomach and is allowed emergency at the Radcliffe hospital in Oxford.

He dies on March 10th, 1988 whereas he had just celebrated his 30 years five days earlier.
