Andrei Cherkasov

Andreï Cherkasov (or Tcherkassov) is a Soviet tennis player professional (before 1991) then Russian, born on July 4th 1970 with Oufa in Russia.

Old world number 3 as juniors, Cherkasov passed professional in 1988. It gains its first title on the circuit in 1990 with Moscow at the time of the first edition of the Coupe of the Kremlin (it will preserve its title the following year). This same year 1991, it reaches the quarter-of-finale with the Open of Australia and the US Open.

It reaches in June 1991 the best classification of its career (13th world).

In 1992, it is qualified for a third quarter-of-finale in Grand Slam with Roland-Garros and gains the bronze medal with the Olympic Games of Barcelona into simple on behalf of the team unified of the ex-USSR.

At the end career in 2000, Cherkasov counts two victories into simple and 2.259.875 dollars of profits.
