Andreas Michalakopoulos
Andreas Michalakopoulos (in Greek Ανδρέας Μιχαλακόπουλος ) (born in 1876 in the prefecture of Achaïe - died in 1938 with Athens).
Important liberal politician during Between Two Wars, it was Prime Minister of Greece from October 7th, 1924 to June 26th, 1925.
He was an important member of the " Komma Fileleftheron " (liberal party) and a close relation, during more than 20 years of its founder, Eleftherios Venizelos. With Venizelos, it took part in the negotiations of the international treaties of Sevres and Lausanne, and it Co-signed as a Foreign Minister the Greco-Turkish convention of friendship (also known under the name of Traité of Ankara) on October 30th 1930.
It had important stations in several governments carried out by Eleftherios Venizelos, Alexandros Zaimis and Konstantinos Tsaldaris: Foreign Minister (1928 - 1933), Minister for the Economy (1912 - 1916), Minister for Agriculture (1917 - 1918,1920), Minister of Defense (1918).
Opposed to the military dictatorship of Ioannis Metaxas, it was exiled with Paros in 1936, which had as a consequence its death in 1938.
