Andreas Matthae (born the November 8th 1968 with Bonn and deceased the August 8th 2004 with Berlin), was a German Politician member of the left social democrat SPD.
Born with Bonn the November 8th 1968, it moved with its family with Berlin in 1972 where it obtained its Abitur (baccalaureat) in 1989. It began from the studies of Biologie and of Sociologie which it did not finish, started to work like employee in 1992, then became contractor in 2001.
Its political career began in 1988 with its entry with the SPD. Of 1992 with 1997, he was president of section of the SPD in Berlin-Kreuzberg. He became president of the social democrats of the district in 1997, then vice-president Berliner social democrats in 2000. He became general secretary on the level of the town of Berlin in 2004.
Critical of the management of the mayor of Berlin Klaus Wowereit, he was regarded as a hope for the left wing of the party.
Single person, it gives himself death by hanging in the night of the 7 to the August 8th 2004. He was 35 years old. The reasons of its act are not well-known.
