Andreas Buxtorf (1740 - 1815), born in 1740 with Basle, died in 1815.

Andreas Buxtorf represented the corporation of the Coiners to the Great Council (1765-1767). He was member of the Small Council (1767-1783), baillif of Small-Huningue (1777-1782), member of the council of the Three (1783), first provost of the corporations (1784-1796) then burgomaster of Basle (1796-1798). Delegated to the Diet. Partisan of the Swiss Republic. Member of the Commission for a new Constitution bâloise.
