Life

Karlstadt obtained its title of Doctor of Divinity in 1510 in the news Université of Wittenberg. It had begun its studies with the Université of Erfurt and that of Cologne. The same year, it was named Archidiacre and titutlaire of the pulpit of theology. In 1511 he became chancellor of the university of Wittenberg, which enabled him in 1512 to give its doctorate to the young person Martin Luther. From 1515 to 1516 it remained in Rome where it passed a double diploma of civil law and canon law (utriusque juris) at the university of Sapienza.

It was one of the first to embrace the Réforme and to marry; but it was not long in separating from Luther about the Eucharistie and from the Consubstantiation.
