Andrea Falconieri (born in 1585 or 1586 with Naples - died in 1656 in its birthplace), also known under the name of Falconiero, was a type-setter Italy N of first half of the 17th century, to corresponds to the beginning of the Baroque music.
Type-setter and Lute ist, Falconieri began his career with the court from Parma and Modena before joining the Royal Vault of Naples in 1639. It amongst other things composed in 1650 there the first Italian variations on the devoted and so prolific topic of the Folias.
Falconieri begins its career like Luthiste with Parma in 1604. It is in this city that he studies the composition with Santino Garsi. With died of this last, Falconieri replaces it in its post office at the court of Parma. It will be the one relatively fertile period beginning for the type-setter. But Falconieri leaves Parma in suddenly 1614, probably for debts and gains Mantoue.
In 1616, its first works appear. Seven other collections are then published between 1616 and 1620 (Six of songs and one of Motet S). It would seem that Falconieri occupied for this period a post office at the court of Florence, then with Rome.
But it is after its marriage and a short stay with Modena, that it leaves in July 1621 for the Spain. It will spend seven years to travel to Spain and France, apparently without his wife.
In 1628, Falconieri must return in Italy for the marriage of the princess Marguerite de Médicis and of the duke of Parma Edouard I {{er}}. It benefits from it to take a station with the convent Santa Brigida of Genoa (during approximately five years), before joining the Royal Vault of Naples in 1639, where it is high with the Choirmaster row of .
Falconieri dies in 1656, victim of the terrible epidemic of Peste, which Naples knew at that time. ----
