Andre Wogenscky
André Wogenscky was a French architect, disciple of Le Corbusier. He was born the June 3rd 1916 with Remiremont (the Vosges), and died the August 5th 2004 with Saint-Rémy-the-Chevreuse (Yvelines).
Biography
Resulting from a family of immigrant Polish aristocrats in France at the XVIIIe century, it enters in 1934 to the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the fine arts. From 1936 to 1956, it is successively raises, assistant, foreman and assistant architect of Le Corbusier. It takes part in Ascoral during the Second world war. He teaches then at the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of architecture of Brussels of 1956 to 1965.
He creates his own workshop in 1956 and is named architect as a chief of the civil buildings and national palates in 1966. He answers important public orders (hospital in Paris, prefecture of the Hauts-de-Seine, Maison of the Culture with Grenoble,…) and also built with the Lebanon and the Japan.
He marries the artist plastician Marta Pan in 1950.
He obtains the national Grand Prix of architecture in 1989. In 1998, he is elected member of the academy of the fine arts. There will remain president of the Fondation Le Corbusier of 1971 with 1988.
