Andre Rouvoet

André Rouvoet (born the January 4th 1962 with Hilversum) is the vice-minister-president and Minister for the Youth and the Family of the Netherlands and the chief of ChristenUnie, a Christian-social Dutch small part.

Career

Before the policy

After a schooling in a school then a Gymnasium protesting, André Rouvoet begins from the studies of Droit in 1981 to the free Université of Amsterdam, specializing in Philosophie of the right. It leaves graduate in 1986. During its studies, he is a parliamentary assistant of the RPF (Reformatorisch Politieke Federatie), the ancestor of ChristenUnie. He is also the president of the antenna of the RPF with Hilversum then with Maarssen.

In 1986 and 1987, it works for the schools of the houses of children Christian woman-Protestant women while continuing to be a parliamentary assistant of the RPF. It is then employed by the Marnix van St Aldegonde Stichting , scientific foundation related to the RPF, before becoming the director in 1989 about it. He teaches then also at the evangelic school of journalism of Amersfoort.

In policy

In 1994, Rouvoet is invested massively in the preparation of the program for the general elections. The RPF progresses considerably in this election and Rouvoet is elected with Tweede Kamer, the Lower House of the Dutch Parliament. He becomes immediately political secretary of the RPF. He is one of the Members of the Commission of investigation parlemenaire on the IRT-business, an corruption affair in the mediums of the police force and justice in Holland-Southerner and Utrecht in the Années 1990. In 1997, it is made honorary member of the Marnix van St Aldegonde Stichting , of which it had left the direction after his election.

After the elections of 1998, Rouvoet becomes member of the presidium of Tweede Kamer. It publishes in 2000 Politiek puts een binder. Beschouwingen over politiek in moraal ( the policy with a heart. Reflection on the policy and morals) . In 2001, plain with another protesting party, the GVP, to form ChristenUnie. Rouvoet becomes the president of the ChristenUnie group in Tweede Kamer. After the unexpected defeat with the general elections of 2002, he becomes the chief of the party and mêne ChrsitenUnie with a new defeat with the elections of 2003. It receives however the price of eloquence Thorbecke 2003 and is elected " Politician of the year 2004 " by the parliamentary press.

In 2005, the star of Rouvoet grows when its party, with the Liste Pim Fortuyn, and Geert Wilders and SP, opposes the European Constitutional treaty rejected by referendum by the Netherlanders.

Because of the small size of its party, Rouvoet is the spokesperson for justice, finances, health and the businesses West-Indian and European. At the Parliament, it shows an private interest with the debate on the values and the standards initiated by the minister-president Balkenende.

The February 22nd 2007, he becomes Minister for Youth and the Family and vice-minister-president of the Netherlands.
