Andre Rieu

André Rieu (born on October 1st 1949 with Maastricht) is a Violoniste Dutch.

Biography

Wire of the leader Andre Rieu senior, he studies with the academies of Liege, Maastricht, Brussels, Salzburg and at Hermann Krebbers in Amsterdam. After these studies it is engaged as violonist with the Limburgs Sinfonie Orkest (LSO), station which it maintains jusq' in 1989. In 1978 it creates its first unit Het Maastrichts Salonorkest , which was composed of five to seven musicians. Its sphere of activity were especially the Netherlands and the neighbouring areas.

In 1988 it founded the Johann Strauss Orkest , with which it opens since 1995 the way towards these successes in front of a general public. Its way of revisiting the Classical music (in particular the Waltz) enables him to sell discs enormously and to join together a very important public at the time of concerts with costumes and multicoloured light effects, as its Internet site attests it, one can see even there dancing the public.

Its most known interpretation is the Second Waltz of Chostakovitch.
