Andre Nocquet

André Nocquet was born the July 30th 1914 with Prahecq, in the Two-Sevres. He discovers martial arts as of the sixteen years age, with the Ju-Jitsu.

In 1937 , it meets the Master Mikinosuke Kawaishi, founder of the French judo, and obtains its black belt of Judo and coil-defense.

Of 1947 with 1955 , André Nocquet develops the Judo in south-west and forms the majority of the Masters of this area.

In 1949 , it discovers the Aikido, under the direction of Master Minoru Mochizuki, then of Master Tadashi Abe.

In 1955 , it is invited to the Japan as a pupil in residence (uchi-deshi) of O Sensei Morihei Ueshiba, the Master founder of the Aikido. Parallel to its study of the aikido, it is in charge of a cultural mission for better making known the Japanese traditions in France.

It returns there at summer 1 958 , with the title of Master of aikido, Diplôme of the World center of Aikido of Tokyo (the Aikido Hombu Dojo). It creates after many years of efforts, the European Union of Aikido. The Ministry for Youth and the Sports, requires of him to take part in work of the Advisory Commission for the creation of the Diploma of State of professor d' Aikido.

In 1962 , Maître Ueshiba confers to him the title of general representative of Aikikai in France. With the co-operation of Master Nobuyoshi Tamura, it will work for a unification of the French practitioners, until his disappearance in March 1999.
