Andre Lurçat
André Lurçat (Heathers 1894 - Seals 1970) is a Architecte French.
Graduate of the School of the fine arts in Paris in 1923, it works in the cabinet of Robert Mallet-Stevens. He builds as from 1924, with the support of his brother the painter Jean Lurçat, a whole of workshops of artists which does of him one of the modern Architecte S more in sight. He is founding member of CIAM (International Congresses of Modern architecture) with, inter alia, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret known as Le Corbusier. But it gives an opinion for a modernism moderated in 1929. André Lurçat builds in 1933 for the municipality of Villejuif the school complex Karl-Marx . Extremely of this success, it is invited to Moscow in 1934 and there works until 1937. After having taken part in the creation of the National front of the resistant architects, it is in charge in 1945 plan of rebuilding of Maubeuge. Member of the council of architecture of the ministry for the Rebuilding and Town planning, professor to the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of decorative Arts of Paris then to the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the Art schools of Paris between 1945 with 1947, it receives, after 1955, the orders of municipalities of the Parisian suburbs. He is architect and town planner as a chief of the town of Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis) where he builds in 1950 the Paul-Langevin city and the unit of Fabien district. He is also town planner of several communes in the area of Nancy.
