Andre Leroy

André Leroy (1801 - 1875) is famous and important a Pépiniériste angevin.

Biography

In 1866, André Leroy begins a large encyclopedia Arboricole in six volumes, the Dictionnaire of Pomologie , which will be finished after its death, in 1879, by Bonneserre of Saint-Denis; volumes 1 and 2 are devoted to the Poire S (915 varieties), the 3 & 4, with the Pomme S (571 varieties), the 5 with the Abricot S and the Cerise S and volume 6, with the fishing S.
