Andre Laignel

Andre Laignel , born the December 4th 1942 with Paris - 14 {{E}}, is a Politician French, member of the Socialist party.

Biography

It adheres to the PS with its creation, after having been member of the Convention of the republican institutions as of 1965. He was treasurer of the PS of 1981 with 1988. He is national secretary with the elected officials since 2003.

Doctor in right, graduate of Political sciences, It taught with the faculty of Paris I until 1981.

Since 2001, he is general secretary of the Association of the mayors of France. In 2004, it aspired to the presidency of it and succeeded in the exploit to cause there a second ballot, because in particular of the distrust of many town councilors vis-a-vis the Décentralisation carried out by the Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin.

It had led countryside with Laurent Fabius for not to the internal referendum of the PS of February 1st 2004 on the European Constitution.

Electoral mandates

Elected official city council man in 1971, he is mayor of Issoudun since 1977 (elected Municipal council since 1971), and President of the Community of Communes of the Country of Issoudun (CCPI) since his creation in 1994.

He was general adviser of the Canton of Issoudun-South of 1976 with 2004. He chaired the general advice of the Indre of 1979 1985.

He was appointed of Indre of 1981 with 1988.

He was elected European Député the June 13rd 2004, function which he had already occupied of 1994 with 1999.
