Andre Labarrère
Andre Labarrère (born the January 12th 1928, deceased the May 16th 2006), was a Politician French, member of the Socialist party, old Député, Senator and Maire of the town of Pau of 1971 with 2006.
He was vice-president of the National Assembly between 1973 and 1974 and deputy secretary near the Prime Minister, responsible for the relations with the Parliament of 1981 with 1986.
Origin
Born in Pau, incorporated arts history and doctor, André Labarrère teaches with the Université Laval of Quebec between 1959 and 1966. It also animates emissions on the history of art on television with Montreal and present of the emissions on the Graphologie, more than a hobby for him.
Political career
- Socialist militant, it is pointed out at the time of the visit in Pau of Jean-Louis Tixier-Vignancour. It joined thereafter the Convention of the republican institutions (CIR) founded by François Mitterrand. He is member of the National Political office of the Socialist party since 1968 with 1971 and member of the Committee National director of the Socialist party since 1968.
- André Labarrère is elected appointed Yrénées-Atlantiques for the first time in March 1967. Beaten in 1968, it is again elected in 1973 and will be re-elected with each election until in 2001, year when it enters to the Sénat.
- It is elected General advice of Pau-West in 1967, re-elected following cutting General adviser of Pau-Jurançon in 1973, 1979, 1985 and resigner in 1988 for office plurality.
- It is elected Regional adviser since the origin at June 1981, is re-elected in March 1986, and resigns the same month.
- He is president of the District council of Aquitaine of 1979 with 1981.

- President of the Association of the Eco-Mayor since his creation in 1989 until in 1999
- Mayor of Pau of 1971 with 2006, senator of the Yrénées-Atlantiques of 2001 with 2006, member of the socialist group of the Senate, it is re-elected with 57% of the voices to the first turn at the time of the local elections of 2001 in a rather preserving city and did not exclude yet in 2006, to represent in 2008 (in 1989, Francois Bayrou is the only one of its adversaries to put it in ballot)

Political positions
André Labarrère was a Social-démocrate socialist party, i.e. it was rather close to his liberal wing. Its detractors showed it Clientélisme and to reign in Autocrate on his city.In May 2002 the shortly after the presidential election, it qualifies Lionel Jospin of “traitor” “to have left the boat in the distress”.
In 2005, he vituperates Laurent Fabius to have made countryside for not with the Référendum on the European constitution.
In February 2006, it gives initially its support for Dominique Strauss-Kahn then to Ségolène Royal, both candidates with the socialist investiture for the presidential election of 2007.
Achievements
Set on new technologies, it does of Pau one of the first towns of France equipped with a public fiber optic infrastructure and Internet very high banc.However, it can attract other branches of industry, such as the Informatique. Moreover, the university pole of Pau (share of the University of Pau and Countries of Adour) is the second of Aquitaine after that of Bordeaux and the city counts approximately 19.000 students.
It carried out also the Zenith, the sport hall, Jaï Alaï, the water stage running and the hospital of Pau.
Personnel
André Labarrère did not make a mystery of sound Homosexualité, being one of the first French politicians to have announced it publicly. The subject is the topic of its novel, " The ball of the célibataires" , published in 1991. That does not prevent it from deciding in 2004 against the Homosexual marriage, at the moment when No5el Mamère (appointed Verts) famous in his town hall of Bègles weddings of a gay couple .Atypical character, it also speaks about Jean-Marie Le Pen like friend. The two men côtoient themselves with UNEF in 1947 - 1949.
It also maintains the friendly relations with conspicuous condemned in the Nineties for Abuse of corporate asset. The April 11th 2006, it announces that it is reached of a Cancer and dies one month later.
