After having received a formation at the military Royal School he had become captain of cavalry then first gentleman of the Room of King Louis XVI. Living at the Court of Versailles, he married on June 6th, 1785 Anne Francoise Aimée de Franquetot de Coigny (1769-1820). The marriage contract was initialed by Louis XVI, and the mass took place in the vault of the castle of Choisy-the-King. Having lost his/her mother at the 6 years age, Aimée de Franquetot de Coigny had been raised by Madam de Guéménée, controlling children of Louis XVI. Cultivated and radiant it had been called the " Queen of Paris" by his/her friend the Queen Marie-Antoinette. Devoured by the passion of the play and strongly involved in debt, the duke wasted the fortune of his wife who asked for the separation of good in 1792. The divorce was pronounced in 1793. Under the Terreur the young duchess was imprisoned and its neighbor of cell André Chénier made the heroin of his poem of it the " Captive" young person;. Constrained with the exile, the duke and the duchess of Fleury joined separately the entourage of the Count de Provence (future Louis XVIII) in Rome. After having traversed Italy and Germany the duke fixed himself one moment at Warsaw, then gained the army of the emigrants, ordered a company of uhlans troops of the marquis de Bouillé. In 1806, Napoleon authorized it to return to France. It vainly tried to return in possession of its properties sold like national goods. It settled in Paris where it died in 1810 without descent. His/her older brother Andre Hercules Alexandre Marquis de Fleury and patented duke had died of disease in the Indies where it had taken part in forwarding against the British fleet carried out by the admiral Suffren. His/her other brother Marie Maximilien Hercules was guillotine under the Terreur.
