Andre Ducasse
André Ducasse is a French physicist born in 1940, specialist in the Laser S and nonlinear Optique.
Biography
Former student of the ENS Cachan (1961-1965, Section A' 1 - physics), it obtains in 1968 the doctorate of speciality (3rd cycle) in physics mention molecular chemistry-physics optical option at the University of Bordeaux thanks to a thesis entitled Etude of the variations of populations of the energy levels of neon under the influence of the induced emission and the doctorate of science State physics in 1978 thanks to a thesis entitled the lasers has dye continuous. Their application to the spectroscopy of saturated absorption , coécrite with Bernard Couillaud. It made most of its career in Bordeaux as a teacher-researcher. It was at the origin of the Center intense lasers and applications and was director of the Center of optical and hertzian molecular physics of the University Bordeaux I. In 1999, it is named managing director of SupOptique (Institute of optics theoretical and applied), where he is also professor of the universities. It takes its retirement in 2003.André Ducasse is currently president of association " Aquitaine Photonic Lasers and Applications" (Alpha) which gathers the actors of the optical die and laser in Aquitaine. It is the structure of governorship of the Pole of competitiveness " Road of Lasers".
