Andre David (speleologist)
André David (1906-1977) lived Cabrerets. He discovered, on September 4th, 1922, with his Marthe sister, his comrade Henry Dutertre (15 years) and a farm laborer, the prehistoric cave of the Pech Merle on the Causse of Gramat.
They forced the boyau découverte (more 100m) to arrive in the Room of Paintings and the room of the Ossuary.
André David will assist then, the Abbot Amédée Lemozi, cleaned village of Cabrerets and large prehistorian, for the study of paintings of the cave and the statement of topography.
