André Courrèges is a dressmaker French born the March 9th 1923 with Pau (Yrénées-Atlantiques).

Engineer of public works of formation, it works during ten years at Balenciaga, before creating his own designers house in 1961.

In 1965, its collection revolutionizes the high-seam while contributing to the success of the Minijupe (launched by Mary Quant with London).
