Andre Claveau

Andre Claveau , born the December 17th 1911 or 1915 - according to the sources one finds indicated one or the other year - with Paris and deceased at the 87 years age the July 14th 2003 with Brassac (Tarn), was an actor and French singer very known in the Années 1940 and Années 1960.

Wire of a tapestry maker, he studies with the École Swell and enters in 1919 with André Mare and Louis Süe in the Company of French Arts, Rue of the Suburb Saint-Honore. He works then as graphic designer and draftsman of jewels and amongst other things carries out the decorations for Hermine , of Jean Anouilh, and the posters for singers.

Its career in the song begins in the middle of the Thirties when it takes part in 1936 in a contest of amateurs organized by the Parisian Station from where it leaves victorious. During six years, it will pass in third, second and even first part of programs in various varieties: with the Theater Mogador in 1939, with the Concert Pacra in 1940, with European in 1941. Then at the top of its glory, it decides to take its retirement not to go up never again on scene, nor to appear on television, him which will have sung, one evening, in front of twenty million televiewers to the Concours Eurovision of the song in 1958.
