Andre Chastel , born with Paris the November 15th 1912 and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine the July 18th 1990, is a historian of French art, author of an important work on the Italian Renaissance.
Professor with the Collège de France, where it is titular pulpit of art and civilization of the Rebirth in Italy, of 1970 with 1984, it is elected member of the Académie of the inscriptions and the humanities in 1975.
