Andre Chabot
André Chabot is a French artist born in 1941 with Saint Etienne, France.
He is presented itself in the form of a " walker nécropolitain". Its work, for more than thirty years, has been devoted to death.
Photographer, it collects in black and white tombs, mausoleums, hypogean, cenotaphs and catacombs. Large traveller, it constituted an impressive photographic memory of the tombs, cemeteries in the whole world. Its photographs of monuments, more than 150.000 to date, constitute funds single and cosmopolitan under development constant.
Plastics technician, it creates installations where the tomb speaks and the revisited coffin transports its phantasms.
Professor emeritus of letters, storyteller, journalist, André Chabot approaches death under all his aspects.
Originator of ballot boxes and monuments, it installed two of his creations to the Cemetery of the Lachaise Father in Paris.
Approximately 500 exposures, whose more than 80 personal exposures, marks out its course in Germany, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Spain, the United States, France, Holland, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Switzerland.
