It is a contributor among most influential of the literature of the Vin, the enology and the culinary studies and the Gastronomie. He wrote many English works, like in French. He is president in the Années 1930 of The Wine and Food Society .

London: Holland Close 1972. An important complement with the bibliography of Vicar with more than 700 entries described in detail. Books on the vine growing, enology, the manners of being held with table, intoxication, the payments and the trade of the wine and much other subjects concerning the wine. Gerard Oberlé describes this edition like " the most beautiful bibliography never printed on the old books relating to Bacchus and his territories ". It indicates that the author had undoubtedly projected to publish 4 volumes one per century. Only the two first appeared concerning S. two volumes were printed by Walter Lewis with the Cambridge University Close. A leading bizarrery made that volume 1 was drawn only with 250 specimens and volume 2 to 275 specimens.
