Andre-Antoine Neyron
Andre-Antoine Neyron was born with Saint-Etienne the August 4th 1772 and is deceased with In addition to-Furens (attached today to Saint-Etienne), the October 24th 1854. Influential trader, he was mayor of Saint-Etienne under the First Empire.
Biography
Fils of Antoine Neyron and nephew of Jacques Neyron which exerted the functions of mayor of Saint-Etienne, it took part in the federalistic movement in 1793 and the defense of Lyon. Having escaped in the Jacobins, it takes part with his uncle François Jourjon-Robert in the white Terreur. Manufacturer of ribbons, it takes again the family company, Veuve Marcellin Neyron .
Il exerts in turn or successively the judging functions at the bankruptcy court, mayor of Saint-Genest-Lerpt (1808), president of the canton of the Chambon and commander of the Guard of honor of Saint-Etienne before being named mayor of Saint-Etienne on September 27th, 1809. Colonel of the National guard in 1814-1815 (what is worth the to him Légion of honor in 1816), then again in 1830, if it sits again at the municipal council of Saint-Etienne between 1813 and 1815, then in 1819, it from now on will live with In addition to-Furens, of which it was to be appointed mayor twice: under the Restoration (of 1815 to 1826) and especially under the Monarchy of July (of 1836 to 1848).
Il is shareholder of the first companies which are constituted in the Loire: the Company of the iron Mines (1818), the Company of the Mines of Rock-the-Molière (1820), the Company of the Railroad. In 1826 it joins the brothers Seguin for the realization of a dry port on arrival of the railroad of Lyon on grounds which it has at the entry of the city. It obtains Charles X, on November 4th, 1824, the carboniferous concession of Méons and gives up its activity in the Rubanerie. It has also interests in the mine of Gain-Small and the concession of Berard. Under the direction of engineer Harmet, Méons is quickly regarded as a model exploitation, visited by the duchess of Angouleme (1826) and the duke of Orleans (1830).
Ayant sold its concession in 1838, it contributes financially to the construction of the church Holy-Bores Sun. Mayor of In addition to-Furens, it tries to interpose between the strikers and the troop at the time of the Grève of 1846 and misses little being killed at the time of the shooting.
