Andranik Margarian
Andranik Margarian (Armenian: ԱնդրանիկՄարգարեան), (born the June 12th 1951 and dead the March 25th 2007 with Erevan, Arménie), is a Politician Arménie N.
At the time Soviet, it is dissenting. Data processing specialist of formation, it is condemned in 1974 to a two years of prison sorrow for his convictions in favor of the independence of the Arménie, at the time integral part of the Soviet Union.
Member of the Republican party ( Hayastani Hanrapetakan Kusaktsutyun or HHK ), it exerts the function of Prime Minister of the République of Arménie of the May 12th 2000 until his death.
Named by Robert Kotcharian, president of the Republic, it replaced Aram Sargsian, dislocated its functions the preceding May 2nd.
Head of the government to leave 2000, it plays the part of regulator between the president, Robert Kotcharian, and the opposition. Under its direction, the country knew an economic growth without precedent. In foreign politics, it is in favor of a hard line on the file of the Haut-Karabakh (populated enclave of Armenians in Azerbaïdjan) like on that of the relations with the Turkey.
He dies of a heart failure, the March 25th 2007 in his residence of Erevan.
Its death intervenes at six weeks of the legislative elections of the May 12th which will see to clash the Republican party (majority at the Parliament) and prosperous Arménie, the party directed by an oligarch close to president Kotcharian.
Another figure of the Republican party, the Armenian ex-minister of defense, Serge Sargsian, replaces it at the station of Prime Minister.
