The Association the Small islands of France gathers the administrative owners of private small islands, i.e. the small islands not being an administrative entity, such as department, commune or canton. The goal of Association is to allow the communication of experiments between the various members, the participation in the environmental action plan like Natura 2000, collaboration with the public agencies, in order to take into account specificities of the small islands.
For this reason, Association takes part since 1996 in the site controls Natura 2000 Trégor Goëlo, like with the programs LIFE Archipels and Breton Marine Ilots, action continued in the other sites Natura 2000 including/understanding of the small islands. Association, within the framework of an work group including/understanding of the lawyers of public law and deprived, of the scientists, of which geographers, and sensitive managers of natural spaces of the littoral, studies the possibilities of alternative to the public land control on the littoral.
