History
Andeville was a long time only one village of “plowmen”. At the 18th century, the tablettery appears who consists of the manufacture of a whole whole of objects of small cabinet work (checkerworks, chess-boards, dice to be played, ranges, dominos, buttons…) in bone, ivory, invaluable wood or mother-of-pearl. She makes considerable great strides until 1900. One of the specialities of Andeville was the ranges.
The day before the release, whereas the retirement of German already started, a German soldier being made pass for a deserter succeeds in returning in contact with the local resistance network, attached to the marquis de Chambly. A few days later it succeeds in fleeing, and returns on August 27th, 1944, accompanied by a troop of S stationed not far from there. All the men of the villages are gathered. 16 of them will be denounced and shot on the spot. Parmis them it mayor, Small Georges. 2 commemorative plaques recall this painful episode to Andeville.
