Anders Sandøe Ørsted (botanist)

Anders Sandøe Ørsted (or Anders Sandø Ørsted or Anders Sandö Örsted) is a Botaniste Danish, born the June 21st 1816 and dead the September 3rd 1872.
He is the nephew of the politician and lawyer Anders Sandøe Ørsted (1778-1860) and of the physicist Hans Christian Ørsted (1777-1851). He travels much in Central America between 1845 and 1848 and becomes, in 1851, professor of botany to the Université of Copenhagen, function which he occupies until 1862.
He makes appear many publications on the S of plants Acanthaceae and Fagaceae. One of its most known publications is Américan power station .
Of Orchidée Oerstedella was dedicated to him by Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach (1823-1889).
