Anders Nordström , doctor Swedish, is, of the May 22nd to the November 8th 2006, managing director by interim of the the World Health Organization (WHO), following the sudden death of the director in exercise Lee Jong-wook.
He studied the Physique at the university Karolinska Institut with Stockholm. He specialized in the field of the medical policy and national and international planning as regards health.
He worked with the Swedish Croix-Rouge with the Kampuchea and the International committee of the Red Cross in Iran. He also worked for the Swedish international agency of co-operation and development during 12 years, including 3 years in Zambia.
In 2002, he was executive director by interim of the world Fonds, institution of the the United Nations fighting against the AIDS, the Tuberculose and the Paludisme. In July 2003, he became general Sous-Directeur of WHO in charge of the Administration. Following the sudden death of Lee Jong-wook, it occupied the general position of director by interim until January 4th, 2007.
