Anders (Andreas) Dahl , born the March 17th 1751 with Varnhem in the province of Västergötland and dead the May 25th 1789 with Turku, is a Botaniste Swedish, raises Carl von Linné. The Dahlia was dedicated to him.
After its studies at the university of Uppsala, that Dahl had the great evil to carry out until their term because of his poverty, it obtains a title of medicine in 1786 with Kiel. He becomes professor-assistant and demonstrator of botany at the university of Helsinki the following year.
Parallel to these activities, it is responsible for the collections and the Botanical garden of Claes Alströmer.
Dahl dies in 38 years.
