Andernach

Andernach is a city of the district Mayen-Koblenz, in the Land the Rhineland-Palatinat, Germany. It is located on left bank of the the Rhine, in the north of Coblentz (20 kilometers). It is one of the oldest towns of Germany, founded by the Romains in -12, its name of then was Antunnacum , i.e. “the village or the farm of Antunnus” (an unknown Celtic man). In 1988 the city celebrated its bimillenary. Currently it counts approximately 30.000 inhabitants.
