Anderlues

Anderlues (in Walloon Anderluwe ) is a common French-speaking of Belgium located in Walloon region in the Province of Hainaut.

With the 1st July 2004, the total population of this commune is of 11  512 inhabitants (5  506 men and 6  006 women). The total surface area is of 17,14 km ².

Place of hard combat in August 1914, Anderlues constituted during decades an important rail junction for the network of tram of SNCV. The principal lines were the following ones:

  • line 31: Charleroi Eden - Marchienne- Heap Fountain the Bishop - Anderlues - Jolimont Louvière;
  • line 90: Charleroi Eden - Marchienne - Heap - Fountain the Bishop - Anderlues - Mons;
  • line 91: Anderlues - Lobbes Bonniers - Thuin Low City;
  • line 92: Charleroi Eden - Marchienne - Heap - Fountain the Bishop - Anderlues - Lobbes Bonniers - Thuin Low City.
