Andalusian royal school of equestrian art

The royal school Andalusian of equestrian art , in Spanish “Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre” was founded in 1975 per Don Alvaro Domecq Romero. King Juan Carlos accepted of it the presidency of honor in 1987 and its title of “royal conferred to him”. It is located in the middle of the town of Jerez of Frontera. Of typically Andalusian architecture it comprises a horse-gear of approximately 1600 places and stables being able to accommodate 60 horses.

Objectives

  • the promotion and the protection of the equine breeding and the activities while deriving.

  • the promotion of equestrian art, by the creation of a school lavishing a formation with the trades of the horse like by permanent spectacles dedicated to the horses and the attachment.
  • the research and diffusion of the knowledge on the historical and cultural aspects of equestrian art in the autonomous community of Andalusia and mainly of the Province of Cadiz.
  • the promotion of equestrian art, the equine breeding and the activities while deriving to make royal School a major tourist attraction.
  • the maintenance of the respect and the culture of the Andalusian horse, as a representation of the Andalusian identity.
  • collaboration with any state, regional, provincial or local community, with any authority in the interest of the preceding objectives.
  • establishment of relations with similar, public or private organizations, with an aim of exchanging knowledge and/or of organizing demonstrations in connection with equestrian art and the equine breeding.
  • collaboration in programs aiming to research on the equine breeding and the derived activities.
  • any activity being able to help with the promotion and the increase in re-elected Royal School

Activities

The royal school proposes courses and training courses and of improvement in the various fields of equestrian art.

The Andalusian royal school produces the spectacle “How dance the Andalusian horses”, in Spanish “Como bailan los caballos andaluces” in the horse-gear of the school, as well as exhibitions in the whole world. The behavior of the riders is the Andalusian costume of the 18th century: leather gaiters on white bottoms, waistcoat, shirt with jabot, blue bolero with gold facings, conical black hat and scarf with pea which falls down on the nape of the neck.

She also proposes a museum of the attachment.

Riders

The royal school counts among its riders of the high level athletes like Rafael Soto, money medal-holder in raising by team with the Olympic Games of Athens (2004) with the Pure Spanish race Invasor, and champion of Spain of raising 2004.
