Summary

Hardly left the School of Peace, Lewis Orne is sent on mission on one of the lost planets, which one has just redécouvrir. The galactic Empire, dismantled by the war of the Steps, is in the process of reunification, and it is necessary to prevent the development of warlike civilizations in separate humanities. The men are marked by the horrors of the war and repression does not help them to rebalance their lives. But Orne guesses their problems and solves them as by enchantment. Although this novel is subtitle Prélude to Dune , it does not enter directly the continuation of the Cycle of Dune, but is rather a hyphen between this one and the program conscience . The fact that it is referred to it comes owing to the fact that here, F. Herbert details his manner of approaching (to create) a new religion such as those developed by the Bene Gesserit.
