Andúril
Andúril , which literally means “the flame of the West” in Sindarin, is in the novel the Lord of the Rings , the sword reforged by the Elfe S of Fondcombe starting from the pieces of Narsil (the sword of Elendil) for Aragorn, which carries Andúril with its departure of Fondcombe with the Communauté of the Ring into 3019 MT. Andúril is decorated of seven stars framed by the Sun and the Moon.
Changes of film of Peter Jackson
In this adaptation, Narsil is reforged only in third film, at the request of Arwen. Elrond gives it to Aragorn to Dunharrow. In film, the handing-over of this sword symbolizes in more the assent of Aragorn to achieve its duty and its destiny of sovereign of the Gondor.
Andúril is the exact counterpart of Narsil, except the formula engraved over the entire length of its blade, inside the gutter. This inscription in Quenya, written in the runic alphabet of the Eregion, appears on the two faces of the blade; the formula is surrounded of the symbols of the Sun (out of enamel amber, close to the handle) and of the Moon (engraved at the meanest end of the gutter, and is intersected with interval regular by seven stylized stars. The stars represent Elendil, dead by holding up Narsil vis-a-vis Sauron (it is during this duel that the sword was broken). The Sun and the Moon represent respectively its sons Anárion and Isildur.
Voici what is written:

what means:

This inscription is also reproduced on the belt to which Andúril is suspended and, for a part only, on a copper and steel punt fixed at its black sleeve.
