Anchee Min (閔安琪 born the January 14th, 1957) is a painter, Photographe, Musicienne, and écrivaine which lives with San Francisco and Shanghai. The Memories of Min, the red Azalea , and its following Nouvelles is either semi-autobiographical or reflecting a particular time of the history of China, being pressed in particular on strong female characters, including inter alia Jiang Qing, woman of Mao Zedong, and Cixi, last empress dowager of China.

Born in Shanghai, Min was sent in camps of work to ten seven years when she was discovered by researchers of talents. She worked as actress in Shanghai Film Studio and from to the the United States in 1984 with the assistance of the actress Joan Chen went away.
