Anatotitan
Anatotitan lived with the Crétacé superior in North America there are 69 to 65 million years. It is a dinosaur with duck nozzle, a biped Herbivore which lived in herd.
It had several hundreds of solid teeth allowing him mastiquer a very hard vegetation. It had large eyes, a fine hearing and an excellent sense of smell. It was approximately 12 meters long and had a long and low cranium (one of cranium discovered was 1,18 m long).
Anatotitan was discovered in 1882 by Cope which called then it Diclonius , then it was named Trachodon mirabilis . It was described by Marsh Lull and Wright in 1942, which re-elected it Anatosaurus copei .
In 1990 Ralph Chapman and Michael Brett-Surman declared that Anatosaurus copei was rather different from Edmontosaurus to make a separate kind of it. They created the name of Anatotitan , the Latin anas (“duck”) and of the Greek Titan, which was a race of divine giants, referring at the same time to the size of the animal and its “duck nozzle”.
Its name means giant duck
